Kyrenia Ship

Source: Press and Information Office, Government of Cyprus
The Kyrenia ship was built in the early 4th century B.C. and is the oldest Greek vessel ever discovered. The archaeological work showed that the ship was an open boat, only about 15 metres long. The crew consisted of four sailors, four plates, bowls, saucers and drinking cups. Among the cargo they found amphorae used for carrying wine and almonds.
The Kyrenia shipwreck was found, studied and restored with care and we now have a clear complete picture of how a merchant ship was built in the 4th century BC.
