Breaking news are stories that are happening today or in the near future.

• Writing breaking news involves presenting information in short stories between 15 seconds and 1 minute long.
  
• Tell a story without being boring. Say it as though you were telling your best friend or your mother or father with enthusiasm.
  
• Use short sentences. Use one idea per sentence.
  
• Use action verbs in your first sentence
  
• Don't start a sentence with a question or a quotation
  
• Talk to your viewers not at them!
