Question words
Depending on what sort of information we want, we use one of the following question words:
- Who wrote that song? (person)
John Lennon wrote the song/John Lennon did/John Lennon.
- What are you reading? (thing)
I am reading the newspaper/the newspaper.
- Which bicycle is yours? (object)
The red bicycle is mine/the red bicycle/the red one.
- When did you arrive? (time)
I arrived at 8:15 am/at 8:15 am.
- Where do you go to school? (place)
I go to Parthenon Gymnasium/Parthenon/Parthenon Gymnasium.
- Why are you doing that? (reason)
I am reading to prepare for class/reading/reading.
- How can I find out? (manner)
You can ask your teacher/ask the teacher.
