eath

Some archaeologists believe that Tutankhamun(King Tut) was killed by his Chief Advisor and successor, Ay. An X-ray of his skull showed a blood clot. This could have been caused by a blow from a sharp instrument, which caused his death. They spent numerous nights together going over government affairs. Maybe Ay felt that he was better than Tutankhamun who was just a young boy. In 1931 a ring was found that proved that Ay married Ankhesenamum, Tutankhamun's wife. He immediately became a pharaoh.

Other archaeologists believe that Tutankhamun was murdered by General Horemheb. General Horemheb was chief of Tutankhamun's army. Both he and Tutankhamun rode together many times in the desert to check on the army. The Hittites (enemies) were very strong at the borders with Egypt and Horemheb was worried. Following the deaths of Tutankhamun and Ay, Horemheb became pharaoh. During his reign, he removed the names of Tutankhamun and Ay from the royal list of pharaohs.
