Facts about the Iceman

Scientists discovered the last two meals eaten by the 5,300-year-old iceman.

They analysed what was inside his intestines. They found that he ate venison just before he died. And before that, he ate cereals and plants.

Scientists also know that Otzi was about 159 centimetres and 46 years old.

He wore three layers of clothes. His clothes were made of goatskin, deerskin and bark fibre. He wore shoes and a hat made of bearskin.

The wound found on Otzi's hand means that he had fought with somebody or something before he died.

Scientist also found that Otzi was injured at the back of his shoulder. This could mean that Otzi was shot as he fled from something bad.

But still, no one knows for certain how he died.
