Payload commander

There are many kinds of astronauts. The commander is the captain of the ship. He gives orders and makes decisions. The pilot is his helper. Mission specialists are scientists or engineers. They do special experiments on space flights.

All astronauts must complete a lot of training. They have to learn about emergencies. They have to learn foreign languages. They have to get their bodies in good condition.

The newest kind of astronaut is the education mission specialist. This job belongs to a teacher. The teacher must leave the classroom and become an astronaut.

If you want to be an astronaut, get started now. You have to be good in many areas of schoolwork. You have to be involved in lots of activities. You have to be a team player. The most important thing is never to stop learning. Are you a future astronaut?
