Theories on Atlantis

Atlantic Theory: According to this theory Atlantis was located somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between the Americas and Africa.


Variation of the Atlantic Theory: According to this variation the exact location of Atlantis is placed closer to the European and African continents somewhere near the Straits of Gibraltar which were called the Pillars of Hercules.

Minoan Theory also called the Santorini -Thera Theory: According to this theory Atlantis was located  in the volcanic island of Santorini or Thera near Crete in the Mediterranean Sea. The island is the site of a massive volcanic eruption many thousands of years ago.

Bermuda Theory: According to this theory Atlantis was located between the Americas and Africa near the islands of Bermuda and Bimini off the coast of the United States.

South American Theory: According to this theory Atlantis was located in South America, somewhere in the Andes Mountains.
